The Five Hour Pre-Licensing Class

Pre-Licensing Class is required before signing up for the road test.

This class is offered weekly at two locations:

Every Saturday
Time: 9am - 2pm

Additional Information

Students should:
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to start time to register
  • Bring their driver's learner permit
  • Bring the $40 fee (no checks accepted unless purchasing a package)
  • Bring a pen.
  • Bring money for break time if desired.


Our Rotterdam Square classroom is located just to the right inside the Loew's Theatre entrance nearest Sears and  the D2-D3 parking area.

Road Test

 Let us accompany you to the Road Test. We will pick you up and provide a 30-minute review lesson before bringing you to your Road Test. After completing your Road Test we will bring you back to home, school, or place of work.
Cost for Road Test accompaniment is $70.00 and includes a 30 minute lesson for Schenectady.
Accompaniment to Albany, Amsterdam, Ballston Spa, Schoharie, and Troy road test sites is $100 (includes a 45 minute lesson).

Road Test Tips:

  • Vehicle inspection and registration must be up-to-date.
  • Photo permit and Course Completion Certificate is required.
  • If you are under 18 must also have a signed MV-262
  • Accompanying driver must be licensed and 21 years of age.
  • Arrive a few minutes earlier than the scheduled time of test.
